France has confirmed it is discussing with Britain how to exit Labour's one in, one out migrant returns deal.

A senior French official says the scheme is over, and it is reportedly set to end in late October with only 1 or 2 more flights left. Just over 1,000 migrants had been sent back to France by the end of June, and the Home Secretary has admitted each return costs around £56,000.

Labour's flagship plan to stop the boats has collapsed after barely a year, and the crossings have not stopped.

Britain must stop relying on France. Anyone arriving illegally by small boat should be detained and deported.
