I am happy to share our new study on myeloid-ROS induced EMT in breast cancer
NRF2 activation by myeloid cell–derived oxidative stress induces SNAI-driven features of EMT in breast cancer | PNAS https://t.co/qiMaI0gl8E
Guillain-Barre Syndrom (GBS) patients with CYBA alleles encoding a low-ROS variant of the NOX2 enzyme appear less affacted by the disease and show a faster recovory. These results are in line with our previous study on multiple sclerosis.

Several variants of virus-specific T cells became detectable in blood shortly after COVID-19, but disappeared after 2-3 months.
However, specialized Th1 cells remained active in the blood of previously SARS-CoV-2-infected patients for at least 20 months. https://t.co/FLTGP4sBk9
NOX2-derived reactive oxygen species (ROS) may be harmful for neurons. Multiple sclerosis patients with CYBA genotypes associated with reduced NOX2-derived ROS-production appeared to have a less severe course of the disases in a recent study.

We recently published a SARS-CoV-2 study in PNAS suggesting that not all viral mutations are evil. Instead ADAR1-induced adenosine to guanine mutations in SARS-CoV-2 RNA appared to correlate with less infectious and less dangerous variants of the virus.

Deciding on coming here was not an easy decision in the beginning but leaving and going back home due to the new policy will be an easy sip. I think @Migrationsverk needs to think twice before losing many talented people. Totally unfair. https://t.co/JzfmSweWQj

It is finally online! This work and others point to treating with #IFNs early in #COVID19, here #IFNL! Such hard work by @JJFeld & many others to get this 1st trial done. Lots still left to do immunology wise as part of our #CIHR grant! Free access here https://t.co/SosO4L2vot
So, here is our data comparing immune responses in people who had a SARS-CoV-2 infection and were then vaccinated once and people who were naive and then were vaccinated once. I'll explain this a little better tonight if I find time. https://t.co/6EOEZq8tod
The work led by @DongreAnushka on how EMT contributes to resistance to immunotherapy is now available online. I had a great time in the Weinberg lab last Autumn, where I worked with Anushka on this story.

Reinfection with endemic coronaviruses do occur, but very rarely, as we show in our recent study. This may have implications for recurrence of SARS-CoV-2.
