NEWS: Tesla Solar Roof is now available in the Dominican Republic through Tesla partner RAAS Solar.
Solar Roof is a roof made of glass tiles with solar cells built in. It powers your home while looking like a normal roof.
RAAS Solar launched it on August 3 at its headquarters in Santo Domingo.
RAAS is not new to Tesla. It has been a certified Tesla Energy partner since 2020 and was the first to install the Powerwall in the country.
This matters because power outages are common in the Dominican Republic.
Solar Roof paired with a Powerwall keeps the lights on when the grid goes down.
Buyers there may also qualify for local clean energy incentives.

This is another sourcing info from the crowd post about HW3 computer failures.
I have some family members that I encouraged to buy a Tesla several years ago. They have been driving a 2022 Model Y. They have loved the vehicle, and I finally encouraged them to start subscribing to FSD, especially when they take long road trips. While they were traveling, v14 Lite was deployed to their vehicle.
Less than two weeks later their right repeater camera goes out, Emergency Braking unavailable, Auto Wipers dont work, Lane Departure warnings gone etc. They took it to Tesla Service while on the road in Boston and they said the HW3 computer was failing or had failed. Now they are on the hook for a new HW3 computer. This 80+ year old couple had to drive 1300 miles back to Florida with none of the Tesla basic safety features available, not to mention no FSD for the month they had subscribed. And now they are asking me what to do. They can't really afford the new computer, and feel like they were given bad advice to buy Tesla.
This seems very odd to me, this happening right after v14 Lite was deployed. Is there a chance that this v14 Lite is actually smoking the HW3 boards?
Are there any other similar stories like this out there? Does anyone have any additional thoughts on this?
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman on orbital data centers:
"If @elonmusk and SpaceX are betting on this right now, there is no reason to believe this will not come to existence. Never bet against an extremely well capitalized Elon."
On NASA's mission to head back to the Moon, he said: "We can't do it without them. So the fact that they're extremely well capitalized right now is a fantastic thing, not to mention the engineering talent that's in there. Without question the greatest entrepreneur and engineer in recent history."

Hey @elonmusk, I parked my car at the airport for 12 days. That's too long for Sentry Mode.
Someone smashed the window, and I received an alarm notification. However, I only saw it with a 30-minute delay.
Why didn't the cameras start recording after the alarm went off? I guess this would make sense.
