@Casey_Bretti I'll be honest with you, I love his music. I do. I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, it doesn't get any better than when he sings, "When a Man Loves a Woman".
@sarah____kent Just heard @RedRockRadioGuy talk about your tweet on the radio.. as soon as he said Sarah tweeted it, I knew it had to be you before I even saw the tweet! 😆 (and so accurate)
@MyNameIsRaph Soooooo true! It'd be a minefield of people shooting video and trying to grab their 175 lbs of crap they managed to stuff into the overhead bins.
GUESS WHO HAS A BOOK DEAL!! 👏
“You’re just another cancer story”, “Books on illness don’t sell”, “Only 1-2% of books get published”. Boy is it hard to keep pushing forward after this kind of feedback from folks who haven’t heard your story.
But I’ve had worse odds so I kept pushing. Writing a book and breaking into publishing is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. But when I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer at 29, I needed to hear a story like mine. Something, anything, that’d give me even an ounce of hope that I might see my first wedding anniversary. I didn’t need to know I’d be guaranteed to make it, I just needed to know someone did.
It took relentless advocating for myself and learning about my disease to make it to where I am now. I was determined to give that same effort to this book, hoping sharing my story may help others one day.
It wasn’t easy but it was so so worth. I couldn’t be more excited to join @LCatAp’s list at @AlcovePress and to have “Life Refocused” represented by @sussmanrachel. I’m so grateful they chose to not only believe in my book but believe in me.
I realize how truly fortunate I am to still be here and I’ll be giving my portion of the proceeds from this book to research. So I welcome any likes, retweets, or celebrations with me in the comments to help us prove that not only do books on illness sell, but books on HOPE do too 🧡
