Weird as it may sound, THIS might be one of the best articles you can read in order to digestibly understand Israeli society. It touches on everything: The post-90s hippie aesthetic, the made up "PTSD" bullshit, the Israeli delusion that the world thinks they're (cont)
@maryturfah@thebafflermag It’s insightful of you to point out that they metabolize their guilt into self-gratifying proof of their innate goodness in order to insulate themselves and their society from guilt’s ability to compel them to change and act morally in the future

1991, Martyn Ware felt that Kate Bush could record a unique cover of “Nature’s Way”. After speaking with her directly, Kate took some time to consider it and replied politely: “I wish you the best of luck, but I don’t think it’s right for me”
— You can’t really argue with that...
Excitingly, at @sheffdocfest last night @martynware revealed that he’s working on a new British Electric Foundation album. He said there are 24 artists performing 27 songs, including a new song with Philip Oakey called “Find Her”, which is their first collaboration since 1980 🥺
One of the most popular bands to come from Sheffield is @heaven17bef, and last night I attended the premiere of the new film “Heaven 17: The Last Temptation” at @sheffdocfest and it was amazing! It’s interesting and fun and it’s really funny too! @martynware@mrgregory#Sheffield
The conversation afterwards with @martynware, @mrgregory and director James Strong was hosted by by journalist Paul Morley was really interesting. Martyn & Glenn are a great doubles-act, and they hadn’t seen the film l before! It was followed by a short live set which was amazing
@heaven17bef are still a brilliant live band, they’re touring in the autumn and playing the whole of the “Penthouse & Pavement” album, they’re playing the Octagon in October so go and see them (and go and watch the film!) @martynware@mrgregory#Sheffield
