@maryturfah@thebafflermag It’s insightful of you to point out that they metabolize their guilt into self-gratifying proof of their innate goodness in order to insulate themselves and their society from guilt’s ability to compel them to change and act morally in the future
This historical argument against women’s suffrage is really funny because it equally applies to a generalized case. i.e. by this “logic” you can deprive anyone and everyone of the right to vote merely by thinking of them as being paired with another voter.
"A woman would vote with her husband, thus giving him two votes; or, a woman would not vote with her husband, thus nullifying his vote. Therefore, a woman should not vote."
this was the argument against granting women the vote.
So, when somebody is suddenly exposed to vacuum:
1. immediate barotrauma from internal gas expanding faster than it can be released
2. rapid cooling from gas escaping and external moisture evaporation
3. unconsciousness from hypoxia in ~12 seconds
They don’t explode, though!
One of the most scathing depictions of modern fascism I've ever seen. A genuine work of art. The legacy of an aesthetics-obsessed, might makes right sociopolitical philosophy now represented through a poorly-composed, ramshackle faggot.
“Man After Man” is an interesting read, but suffers from having humanity be simultaneously intelligent enough to develop advanced genetic engineering and too stupid to use it in any of the ways that would actually solve their problems, preferring to make neat creatures instead
@HackaAji@Tats_Gunso In the US, many people feel that our democracy has been subverted by money (from powerful industries, wealthy individuals, etc). If people reasonably believe that the law doesn’t “represent our society’s collective agreements”, then what meaning does the “spirit of the law” have?
@y00black It’s the upside of suburban sprawl in a large, relatively young country. The downside is that many areas have poor public transit and are very difficult to live in without spending a lot of time driving.
Has anyone told the Japanese that in the earliest days of school we are taught that folding a piece of paper in half lengthwise is "hotdog style" and widthwise is "hamburger style"?
Jacob and Esau is really testing my patience. On my only good run so far, I got lucky with “Stars?”->R Key on floor 3 and then had to use it the next floor. Luckily it was enough to put me over the power curve through Mega Satan & Delirium, but that’s a crazy ask just to win once
I’m not sure it’s good for our collective online social life that people are financially incentivized to loudly commit acts of odious public stupidity. Hardly the worst offender, I guess.
@eyemask17 An indication of neither gayness or homophobia, only how cooked you are (succubi are higher-ranking demons 😔). Perchance did you ask one of the usual shadow creatures to see their manager? Does get rid of them temporarily but the result can be as you’ve seen.
