I believe there is a "death touch" for writing. A mythical perfect sequence, rhythm, pressure and location of strikes, without much force, that can kill a man. There's got to be a lethal sentence out there, or at least a paragraph.
My employer got acquired by a company in Michigan, so now I'm working with a bunch of Midwesterners and am completely smitten with their accent. Don't know why, but it evokes something like a mischievous benevolence. People who would sneakily protect you from your own stupidity
