For the first time in FIFTEEN YEARS, our Special Forces recruiters achieved their mission of 2,940 candidates.

And, for the first time in a DECADE, the U.S. Army Reserves have met their mission of 14,322 future Soldiers in September - two weeks ahead of schedule.

Last September, @SecWar Hegseth ordered the Army to strip away distractions and refocus on its core purpose of preparing to fight and win wars.
By September 30, 2026, the Army will achieve FULL compliance with Secretary Hegseth’s directives.

Earlier today, @potus & @secwar powerfully reminded us all what makes America resilient, as they honored the 184 victims who were killed at the Pentagon on 9/11 as well as the first responders & heroes who ran to danger to help their fellow citizens.

25 years later, their memory continues to strengthen our resolve to defend this Nation & the freedoms we hold dear.

On September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorists carried out a cowardly attack and murdered nearly 3,000 Americans.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward the danger, and the families who still carry that loss.

I am honored to have been selected by President Trump to serve as Acting Secretary of the Army under the historic leadership of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

I am blessed to have grown up in a small town in the United States of America, living the realization of the promise of America, the Greatest Nation in the history of the world.

Patriots throughout our nation, from sea to shining sea, enjoy that same precious freedom every day, a miracle that today is too often forgotten. That blessing has been enabled immeasurably by the U.S. Army, which literally built our nation and continues to guarantee those freedoms each passing moment.

The U.S. Military is the most powerful, capable, and dynamic entity humanity has ever devised. The Army is its foundational branch, a hardened fighting force that has crushed America's enemies and secured our freedom for 251 years and counting. Americans everywhere are putting their trust in the Army to again meet a pivotal moment in history, and I am grateful that President Trump and Secretary Hegseth understand exactly how high the stakes are.

To this challenge, I bring my love for our country, deep respect for our service members and their families, and my proven experience rejuvenating a massive, complicated part of the Army. Working closely with the Department of War, the Trump Administration, and Congress, we will deliver a more ready and capable Army.

My previous work in the Army focused on moving at Trump Speed to deliver on one of the Army’s original missions. I will apply that same relentless focus on efficiency to how the Army mans, trains, equips, and modernizes.

It is now my job to make sure we never send our troops into a fair fight. We will equip them with every cutting-edge advantage needed to completely dominate our enemies and return home safely.

As a third-generation Army veteran, it has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as the Secretary of the Army under President Trump and Secretary Hegseth. Tomorrow is my last full day in the role.

Our Soldiers, Civilians, and their Families are our Nation's very best, and they have inspired me every day. I am sincerely thankful for their service and sacrifice.

I had the privilege of working with them to modernize and accelerate how the Army mans, trains, and equips the most lethal fighting force on the face of the earth. We could not have made the progress we did without the support of Secretary Hegseth.

I am forever grateful to President Trump for the opportunity to once again serve my country.

I've traveled across the country to see how the Army Organic Industrial Base is transforming. I've discovered where we have failed to modernize and l've also seen what's possible when we invest in the right facilities and workforce.
The @USArmy can't afford pockets of excellence. We need an Organic Industrial Base that's ready and capable of outbuilding and outproducing any adversary. We must bring every arsenal, depot, and ammunition plant across the Army into the future.

Our drone marketplace continues to grow, with Mexico the latest country to sign on to participate. These partnerships will expand access to unmanned aircraft systems and help get capabilities to our forces faster. By learning from one another and working together, we can accelerate innovation.

America’s universities have always been engines of innovation. Visiting MILTech at @montanastate reinforced what’s possible when academia, industry, and the Army come together to solve the real challenges our Soldiers face on the battlefield. Stronger partnerships with our nation’s universities will help turn breakthrough ideas into fielded capabilities.

Strong partnerships are built through dialogue and shared purpose. During a recent meeting with leaders of the Mexican Army Secretary Driscoll focused on advancing cooperation in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) marketplace. By sharing operational experiences, capabilities, and lessons learned, we are strengthening our partnership and identifying opportunities to accelerate innovation in support of our Soldiers and the security of our nations.
