I have always been a firm believer in keeping nine justices on the Supreme Court--not more, not less. Expanding the Court because politicians are unhappy with its decisions is unwise. Having nine justices has served us well for most of our great country’s history, and adding justices to change how the court decides cases would set off tit-for-tat expansions that have no obvious end. Let's let the people decide--Congress should send the Keep Nine constitutional amendment to the states for ratification.
Trump Accounts are now live!
Created through the Working Families Tax Cuts, Trump Accounts help give every child a head start on the American Dream.
For children born between 2025 and 2028, the federal government will contribute $1,000 to a new investment account, allowing those funds to grow tax-free over time and giving the next generation a real stake in America’s future. A stronger start today means greater opportunity tomorrow.

Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease that affects millions of Americans. I had the pleasure of meeting with the Alzheimer's Association, whose Kansas members updated me on efforts to improve Alzheimer's and dementia care, research, and early detection. We talked about several important initiatives, including expanding access to blood-based Alzheimer's screening tests through Medicare, increasing federal support for Alzheimer's and dementia research, and strengthening training opportunities for primary care providers to improve early diagnosis and patient care - especially in rural and underserved communities.
I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Navy League. We had a helpful conversation about the challenges and opportunities ahead, including the importance of strengthening America's shipbuilding capacity to support our national security and maintain a strong naval presence around the world.
The new Medal of Sacrifice, to be issued by the President of the United States, will honor eligible law enforcement officers and first responders killed in the line of duty. As a strong supporter of law enforcement, I was a cosponsor of the legislation to create this recognition and am pleased to report that last week President Trump signed it into law.
The numbers are in, and they're clear: the Working Families Tax Cuts are delivering real relief for hardworking Americans.
Nearly 97% of all income-tax filers nationwide received tax relief under this bill. 96% of those who claimed new deductions earn under $200,000, and 70% under $100,000. That's relief for working families.
From workers earning tips and overtime to seniors on fixed incomes, these tax cuts are working to put more money back where it belongs - in the pockets of Kansas families.
NEW: Treasury just released the data on the first filing season under the Working Families Tax Cuts. The results are clear. 97% of filers got a tax cut. That’s $82 billion back in Americans' pockets. 🧵

Rural Development issues were the topic of a roundtable discussion in Marion County. Thanks to Rep. Derek Schmidt, @RepDerekSchmidt@DerekSchmidtKS, for hosting RD Kansas.
Big crowd this weekend at the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet. From Freeman Hospital to new businesses, some good things are happening in Fort Scott. Congratulations to all the honorees, and thank you for the information, the hospitality, and an enjoyable evening.
Today, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced that $79.1 million from the Rural Health Transformation Fund we enacted last year is being awarded to 39 rural health organizations across Kansas. This is the first round of awards, and we expect more in the future.
I’m pleased to report that more than $17.4 million will go to healthcare entities in our 2nd Congressional District and another $14.8 million will go to organizations that provide health services to many of our district residents. This new funding will provide critical support to hospitals, clinics, and health care providers serving rural Kansans every day.
I was proud to support and vote for the Rural Health Transformation Fund because access to quality health care is essential for Kansas families and rural communities. These investments will help strengthen local health care services and ensure Kansans can continue receiving quality care close to home.
Joined the Wichita Metro Crime Commission today to update on our work to support law enforcement, make our communities safer, support crime victims, strengthen peace officer background checks, etc. Great to be back with you, and thanks for all your terrific work to support public safety locally!
I am committed to helping my constituents in any way I can. When Dan Allendorf contacted our office seeking assistance in locating his military records so he could apply for a VA bronze service plaque for his future headstone, we were glad to help. After making several calls on his behalf, we were able to locate his records through the Museum of the Kansas National Guard. Because of this effort, Mr. Allendorf will receive the headstone and recognition he has earned through his service. Thank you for reaching out to our office.
Congratulations to River, Parker, and Evan! I was proud to nominate each of you for the service academies, am delighted you were accepted, and will be excited to see your futures unfold.

I had never visited the Last Chance Store in Council Grove - now a state historic site - which in the 19th century offered the "last chance" for travelers on the Santa Fe Trail to stock up on supplies before heading west across the Plains. I really enjoyed doing so yesterday. Thank you to site administrator Mark Brooks for the great information and a special peek into the cellar!
