Dr. James Patrick “Pat” Chaney, a graduate of MSU, has been named chairman of the Mississippi State Board of Health!

A practicing physician at Physicians & Surgeons Clinic, Chaney was appointed to the board in 2021 and also chairs the state board of health's maternity and infant health subcommittee.

In 2007, Aaron Foster joined Toyota as a paint engineer. Today, he leads Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi as its president.

A mechanical engineer graduate of Mississippi State and Iuka native, Foster was named Toyota Mississippi's seventh president in June after serving in leadership roles through the years across multiple departments. As the plant's top executive, he oversees a workforce of 2,400 and all manufacturing and administration functions.

25 years later, we remember.

This afternoon, local first responders, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brothers, and other MSU community members climbed the stairs at Davis Wade Stadium to honor the lives lost and sacrifices made on this day.

Twenty-five years later, Mississippi State continues to honor those whose lives were lost on 9/11.

This morning on the Drill Field, MSU President Mark E. Keenum and First Lady Rhonda Keenum joined MSU Student Association leaders for a memorial, as members of MSU’s Army and Air Force ROTC began a continuous 24-hour watch over the memorial display and American Flag, lowered to half-staff in remembrance.

MSU President Mark E. Keenum met with the 2026-27 Alumni Delegates yesterday afternoon, thanking them for their service to the university and encouraging them to make the most of the opportunity.

Established in 1980, the Alumni Delegates organization serves as a liaison between MSU students and alumni, connecting the 148-year-old land-grant institution with its more than 166,000 living graduates.

Though he was born years after September 11, 2001, MSU sophomore Bradyn Long carries a deep connection to that date’s national tragedy, shaped by numerous childhood visits to a quiet field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The MSU aerospace engineering major, a 2026 recipient of the Flight 93 LeRoy Homer Jr. Flight Scholarship, is turning his personal history into a lifelong calling, combining his desire to be not only an engineer, but also a pilot.
