You are right,, but if the goal is to generate more revenue, the team should prioritize creating fresh, customizations rather than relying on the same old ones.
They also need to invest heavily in the lounge system too— with mini activities and start to use that big cinematic screen there for something useful for the fans "like streamers of the month-to support streamers, or latest tournaments feed" that builds a powerful retention loop that keeps casual players coming back daily, while, Knowing what's going on around on streaming hubs and professional tournaments.
They should also overhaul character customization entirely: update the visuals to feel modern and fresh, introduce seasonal/holiday-themed vibes (holidays, winter summer themes, etc.). These kinds of limited-time, emotionally resonant cosmetics drive huge spending in successful live-service games.
BNE has massive potential to make serious money, but unfortunately, they seem to lack deep experience in designing effective player retention loops and monetization that feels rewarding instead of forced, and instead of trying to get that revenue from a pro player who cares the most about the game base and competitive mechanic << trying to mess with that will make a huge backlash for the whole game which will even reflect on the casual player as well.
Pro player needs:
A mechanic as balanced as possible, not by trying to make everything EASY for casual players who won't even notice the different. And they need to be infused with nostalgia things which they will definitely pay money for it "pack of old tekken stages" or something like that.
