THE UNTOLD STORIES OF A TRAVELER IN UGANDA 🇺🇬
A Must-Read Story 👇
Kisoro Done! Next Stop: Kampala 📍
We have spent 14 days on the road, documenting @ugwildlife content projects as The Mad Man, under The Travel Specialists Marketing Agency.
We teamed up with our partners @davycinema and @OumaJr256 to deliver and market top-quality tourism content along the journey. We also joined @YkeeBenda’s team of influencers to push the same tourism agenda under the Mountain Gorilla Festival and @Virungamarathon programs, happening 20th–22nd November.
So, what is the untold story of a traveler?
From the outside, it looks like a business of fun, adventure, enjoyment, and some good payments. 😂
But the journey is not always as rosy as many people think.
Behind the beautiful photos and fancy destinations is hard work, sleepless nights, tight deadlines, waking up very early, keeping time, staying disciplined, and doing lots of research just to deliver quality projects.
Many of my friends see us sleeping in fancy lodges, but guess what? We barely have time to enjoy them!
Our daily routine is waking up as early as 4:00 AM, heading into jungles and forests, and sometimes returning to our accommodation past midnight.
On average, the only time I actually enjoy these beautiful lodges is less than four hours a day. Sometimes, we barely even get the chance to appreciate the beauty of the places we are staying in.
WEATHER CHANGES
Moving between different destinations can also be challenging.
Imagine leaving the hot weather of Kampala and, within hours, adjusting to the cold temperatures of Kisoro or moving from Kisoro to the hot conditions of Karamoja.
Your body needs time to adjust, and that is why some of us are constantly battling coughs and flu.
THE FOOD CHALLENGE 🍌😂
Uganda has some of the best food in the world, but let me tell you something: different communities prepare food differently!
You can enjoy your matooke in Buganda, then find the same matooke prepared differently in Ankole and suddenly wonder what happened. 😂
And honestly, one of my biggest challenges on these trips is diarrhea all because of food, food, and more food! 😂😂
LONELINESS & STRESS
Very few people understand this part.
Loneliness during travel is real.
We leave many of our loved ones behind just to spend days camping, travelling, and working in forests and bushes.
You meet many people along the journey, but sometimes you still miss the people back home.
BUT DESPITE ALL THIS•••
Amidst all these challenges, nothing beats travelling!
It is still one of the most exciting things I have ever experienced.
You get to discover new places, meet amazing people, experience different cultures, tell stories, create memories, and market Uganda to the world.
So yes…
The journey is hard. The nights are long. The schedules are crazy. The food can fight back. 😂
But at the end of the day…
TRAVELLING IS FUN! 🤣🌍🇺🇬
The Mad Man cheering the champions of tourism on the streets. ✌️
Good Morning Beautiful Ugandans
Meet The pride of Ankole Tall Beautiful women
Don’t miss The @v_rungamarathon on 21st November 21 and The Gorilla Festival in Kisoro

Mr. Museveni has taught me one thing: make your messages subtle, intentional and deliberate!
Those who care will find them and know how to respond and how to stay away from his line of fire!
Have a lovely weekend.
The art of deception is very useful in war so I have heard. Keep the enemy either unsure or guessing.

A few Canadians in Uganda are working on a petition to the Canadian government to revisit and hopefully lift the current restrictions around Ebola. Please send me a DM.
If you are:
1) A Canadian living in Uganda
2) A Ugandan in the diaspora in Canada
I will share the link for the petition when it's ready.
MINISTRY OF SPORTS
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Hon. @OgwangOgwang and team have made it so easy for us to pursue proper marketing this time round.
You can’t market an international marathon while seated in Kampala, you have to be where big marathons are networking and exhibiting.
Hon @adoniaayebare some foreign affairs people around the world are supporting our efforts. When we share ideas, they are quick to respond.
UGANDA had never made such big moves , attending and pushing Uganda at worlds biggest marathons like Chicago , Boston, we have paid for space at the LONDON MARATHON.
It will be 6 days of pushing Uganda through RWENZORI MARATHON.
OUR TARGET IS MORE 70 countries will be represented at the RWENZORI MARATHON 2027 God willing.

CANADA TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
TOURISM
Today morning I woke up convicted that we UGANDANS can publicly challenge the decision by CANADA blocking Uganda for another 60 days.
I decided I will call many not all tourism leaders in public offices because we need them in this push and none picked my phone call or returned my call.
I am hoping tomorrow they pick my phone calls and we strategize.
Please make sure they read this message.
