She refuses to repay her £17k severance package even though she lambasted re-hired Tories who acted this way

Rayner earns approx. £250,000 a year! £166,104 MP & ministerial salary + private earnings of at least £80k+*

£17,000 is a paltry sum for her to pay to regain some shred of dignity & decency, and hopefully earn back a little respect from the British public.

I find it remarkable that she can't see this is the right thing to do - and that it is in her best interest.

The hypocrisy is staggering. Whilst in opposition she tabled and voted for a motion preventing ministers from getting severance if they breached the ministerial code – which she admitted she did.

Angela Rayner is the absolute definition of a shameless hypocrite.

She quit the cabinet in disgrace last year over her tax scandal, pocketed a £16,876 severance payment, and has now waltzed straight back into the exact same job.

And when asked to hand the money back? She refused point blank, defending it with the pathetic excuse that it was “a year ago”. Yes, Angela. It was a year ago. And now you’re back in the job. So give the public’s money back, you money-grabbing hypocrite.

Even worse, she has the brass neck to claim that unlike the Tories, she and Labour are “focused on delivering for the British people” and “not looking like we’re in it for ourselves”. She actually said that while defending keeping thousands of pounds she should never have received in the first place after returning to the same role within a year.

The sheer shamelessness is breathtaking. One rule for her, another for everyone else. Absolute brass neck.

Jo Nagai was raising swallowtail butterflies at his home in Kobe, Japan, when he noticed something odd. The ones he had looked after as caterpillars seemed to recognize him. Wild butterflies fled. His didn't.
He was in second grade. He wrote a four-page letter to Dr. Martha Weiss, an entomologist at Georgetown University who had studied whether moths could retain memories through metamorphosis. He asked if she could help him design a version of her experiment for butterflies.
She said yes.
Using a muscle therapy device, Jo trained caterpillars to associate the scent of lavender with a mild vibration. When the caterpillars became butterflies, 70 per cent of them still avoided the lavender. Their brains had been completely rebuilt during metamorphosis. The memory survived anyway.
Then he bred them.
The offspring, which had never been trained, also avoided lavender. So did their grandchildren. Without ever experiencing the vibration, two generations of butterflies inherited an aversion to a scent their grandmother had been taught to fear.
Jo documented it all in a 33-page research paper and presented his findings at the International Congress of Entomology in Kobe in 2024. He was 10.
A second grader wrote a letter to a Georgetown professor, and together they found evidence that butterflies can pass memories down through generations.

I feel the need to point out that people are not angry or divided because of the “far-right”.

They feel that way because, put crassly, if you import the 3rd world, you become the 3rd world & that’s what many feel is happening.

They are angry because of the things that are happening in this country. They are angry because they have seen (despite you telling them not to watch it) a video seemingly depicting an (alleged) attempted beheading on their streets!

Normal, everyday people have had ENOUGH.

Why do you expect people to witness barbaric scenes on their streets and “stay calm”?

A bricklayer in East Yorkshire has spent 35 years putting up barn owl nest boxes on weekends. This year, the region saw 308 owlets hatch.

His name is Robert Salter. He's 56 and does bricklaying full time. In 1990, he saw a piece on the news about a man in Lincolnshire installing barn owl boxes, and decided he'd do the same. He started with five.

He now has more than 350 boxes scattered across fields, farms, outbuildings, and trees in East Yorkshire. Every June, he takes four weeks off from bricklaying and visits them with his wife Sue. Scrambling up ladders, ringing chicks, cleaning boxes, repairing the ones the weather got to. He's a licensed bird ringer for the British Trust for Ornithology.

In 2024, the region ringed 95 owlets. In 2025, the count was 308. The Barn Owl Trust says that nationally, this year was "pretty poor" for barn owl breeding, but east Yorkshire is the exception, and it's the exception because of one man with a ladder.

The barn owl population in the UK was estimated at 4,000 pairs in the mid-2000s and crashed to roughly 1,000 by the early 2010s. The species is still recovering.

Most of conservation is one person who refuses to give up.

In 1943, the Gestapo finally caught Raymond Aubrac — one of France's most wanted Resistance leaders. He was sentenced to death. His execution was days away.
His wife Lucie was six months pregnant.
Most people would have hidden. Would have grieved quietly and prayed for a miracle. Lucie Aubrac did something else entirely. She obtained forged identity papers, constructed a cover story, and walked straight into the office of Klaus Barbie — the man history would remember as the Butcher of Lyon — and convinced him to grant her a visit with the condemned man.
She wasn't there to say goodbye.
She was memorizing guard positions. Counting minutes. Mapping the route the prison truck would take.
On October 21, 1943, that truck rolled through the streets of Lyon carrying Raymond and other prisoners toward what should have been the end. Lucie had spent weeks quietly assembling a team of Resistance fighters, planning an ambush with the precision of a military operation. When the truck reached the ambush point, the team struck — fast, coordinated, and without hesitation.
In the chaos of gunfire and confusion, Raymond Aubrac was pulled free.
Lucie — visibly, unmistakably pregnant — had organized every detail of his liberation.
They went into hiding. Weeks later, Lucie gave birth to their daughter in a safe house while German forces searched for them across France. When liberation finally came, the Aubracs didn't merely survive — they rebuilt.
Raymond became a celebrated engineer and entered public life. Lucie became a historian, pouring decades into ensuring that the women of the French Resistance — so often unnamed, so easily forgotten — were written permanently into the record. They raised three children. They traveled the world. They argued and laughed and grew old together.
When journalists asked Lucie, years later, what had compelled her to risk everything that October day, she didn't hesitate.
"He was my husband. What else would I do?"
Lucie Aubrac passed away in 2007 at the age of 94. Raymond — who had once needed a commando team to be freed from a German prison — lived on until 2012, reaching 97 years old. In his final years, he continued speaking publicly about the Resistance, about memory, about the obligation to tell the truth.
They had been married for 64 years.
Not a love story built on grand gestures or perfect circumstances. A love story built in occupied France, in safe houses and forged documents and a prison truck ambush on a Lyon street — forged in fire, and never broken.

In recent months I’ve chosen to stay out of all the “noise” of X and the cross party political horrors we are witnessing as our country descends into chaos after years of neglect.

And I have been approached by many media outlets today to ask if I am going to stand against @AndyBurnhamGM in the Makerfield by election. I’ve declined all interviews up to now.

But I just wanted to say here that whilst I’m hugely flattered that the public consider me as worthy of their trust in such a huge moment, and many have messaged me asking me to throw my hat in the ring, I feel I can do more good from the place I am.

The work fighting for victims and survivors of “rape gangs”, all survivors of any kind of sexual violence still being hugely failed by our police/courts/cps, and to continue to use my voice to expose the cover ups and corruption in our institutions that has consumed my life for 13 years isn’t finished yet. And I don’t quit until it’s won! I know my subject inside out! And I know what’s needed….

My charity @TMOFCharity and I are currently fighting this government in a Judicial Review, a “David and Goliath” fight as I said in March. We are also fighting alongside many dozens of survivors as we try to ensure they have an effective voice in this so called new “statutory enquiry” - which in all honesty is shaping up to be exactly like the one that fell apart last year when survivors including @fionagoddarduk @EllieAnnRe71927 @snatched1400 and others resigned in disgust at the secrecy and “game playing” they saw from @jessphillips and others in government.

3 months after we took over two dozen survivors to meet @annelongfield and her team in Manchester we’re still to receive any update, response or even the most basic communication about the direction of travel of this new “Statutory enquiry”and again we’re hearing on the grapevine of more “secret squirrel meetings”, NDAs, lack of openness and transparency etc etc

So my work here is not yet done, and I intend to see this through until I can rest knowing change is coming.

Nobody could figure out why the abandoned Hendricks apple orchard suddenly bloomed in April 2019. The trees hadn't produced fruit in eleven years. County agriculture office sent two inspectors. They found sixty thousand honeybees working the property - a massive colony that had escaped from Tomás Vega's apiary three miles south. Tomás had reported the swarm missing in March. He expected them dead. Instead they'd colonized the hollow barn on the Hendricks lot and cross-pollinated every surviving tree. That October, the orchard produced twenty-two tons of Cortland apples. The Hendricks family offered Tomás a permanent lease. He moved his entire operation there the following spring.
