LAUNCH, short fiction of mine written throughout the many dark moments at the end of the Trump administration, published by @adroitjournal. https://t.co/33jFLIdebQ
Bonjour! One of my stories is coming out soon (today maybe?) in a journal I'm enjoying saying with an obnoxious French accent. I'll link to the story once c'est vivant!
This is one of those days where I want to Google "how do I do this" because this post-vaccine life is newness combined with every day's already newnesses.
In this first year of parenting, I've started to learn how to balance this instinct to over-prepare with an understanding that anything might happen. And whatever does, we can handle.
We are almost to the ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY for the baby-soon-to-be-toddler. We have learned so much from her, but what I have most tried to learn/unlearn is to let go when things don't go exactly as I have planned.
I have only realized recently that the planning that I do is also a way to control for situations that I worry I won't be able to handle well or at all. And then there is the fear of being labeled as inadequate.
Sleep is an incredible thing. Since I started sleeping again (like 6 hours a night at least!!!!) my mood has been generally more relaxed and yet I have more energy. Sleep, man. SLEEP.
@KaitGetsLit Pro tip: donβt let your fever delirium stop you from taking a painkiller to make yourself more comfortable. For some reason, in the middle of the night I thought that I needed to experience the vaccine fever in order to reap its benefits.
