@robeastaway So now you could have 8 + 2^3 + 1 = 17 or sqr(8 x 2^3) - 1 = 7 or sometimes I introduce the ! sign. So for instance, you could have 23 - (sqr(8+1))! = 17. Or you can introduce one or two zeros as you could write the date 08/01/23 which gives other options as n^0 = 1
@robeastaway Today's date isn't the best! Under these circumstances I tend to allow one more rule! Today a good extra rule would be to allow a change of position of the numbers so that you could have 2^3 instead of 23.
