@Transaretrans@fletcherkathy8@mtighe62@Mrs_ARockstar@jk_rowling So I've started with this one, and it's going to be a longer thread and I've definitely missed things because this article is a mess and a great example of desinformation.
I've picked it up first because I was intrigued by the graph (statistics are good!) /
@BadMedicalTakes Without looking at the survey - or even if it exists - that effect would probably be mediated by vaccination rates of trans people (which in turn would be mediated by education, income, place of residence etc.)
@kpopalypse Did you see that article on Pannchoa about how first gen idols "were really good at singing actually" complete with a list of videos of them not being good at singing? At this point I'm not sure whether it's gaslighting or stupidity
@Nrg8000 If I were to guess:The fact that is was legalized somewhat recently pushed a conversation to the forefront that most other countries on this list can dismiss as being purely hypothetical? The question asked is not the same for a Japanese person versus a Taiwanese person.
@BadMedicalTakes I learned to write my name at around the same time my aunt did even though there is around a 30 year age difference, but sure, that is completely unrelated to the lack of oxygen in her brain at birth.
@AN1Guitarman @TJ_onfire @snide_sally Humanity doesn't usually grant human rights to something that doesn't have a brain. We also don't grant human rights to brain dead people - they are considered no longer alive. Why treat something as human if it never even had what a corpse lost?
@AN1Guitarman@snide_sally Why would it be considered a separate human being if it can't subsist outside of my body? If it's already a human: Great! Take it out and raise it. If you can't do that, by what metric would this be considered a person then?
@hiimnoor I've read an article on the shooting (which was already called a possible accident/suicide attempt) from the 20th - the day after it happened. I understand that a family that wasn't right next to the deceased is going to have many questions, but this was not a hate crime.
