This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he's wearing different socks and shoes. This wasn't a fashion statement.
It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim represented the U.S. in track and field. On the morning of his competition, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can.
That's the pair that he's wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.
I do not believe that anyone needs my opinion on Israel or Gaza.
I do not believe my opinions on Church issues are vital.
I have no piercing insights into world, national or Church events that are necessary for anyone.
What I do have is broken heart for the way things are and a conviction that it does not have to be this way.
What I do have is knowledge of some of my sins and patterns of sin that make the world around me worse.
What I do have is the ability to pray anytime, anywhere; to place my feelings and fears on the altar of the Lord.
I cannot change the world or the Church with my opinion, but I can let God change me and help me to act like I wish I felt, to pray and be peaceful.
Give me the grace, Oh Lord to do what I can to help, not what I want or what is easy.
I give it all to you.

We encourage the Fighting Illini community to celebrate what Dick Butkus meant to them by leaving flowers by his statue outside Smith Center.

Teenager wants to earn pocket money for a PS5. He goes door to door in an Atlanta suburb to offer to help with gardening. Some residents get scared and call the police. The officer talks to the boy and he explains why he is looking for a job. The police officer, also a big gaming fan, raises money for a PS5. This is what then happens a few days later 👇 @CityofHapeville 💙❤️
