I donβt think itβs ideal for you to not be engaged with a book. I donβt mean a novel of leisure. A transformative one. There has to be an inflow of a form of knowledge at every phase in lifeβ¦ sadly, this ideology is fast becoming obsolete by a generation that doesnβt read.
Overfishing, pollution, climate change, and poor management are depleting fish stocks, while record-high ocean temperatures are causing the fourth global coral bleaching event.

I had a very important discussion on the BRT earlier today.
If you are doing your SIWES or IT, please take note and share.
Life is not scripted, but having the right information at particular periods in your journey can be transforming.
I got talking to the young man beside me, and I asked what he was up to. He is studying civil engineering, presently on SIWES.
I asked what the plan is post graduation. He was not too sure. So I offered some advice.
SIWES and IT is an opportunity to get a feel for the industry. I had a couple of university students in the UK shadow me for some weeks when I was on Crossrail. You may not be getting paid good money, but you have access to professionals with decades of experience. Take full advantage. Everyone knows you are a student, and you are not under pressure. Use that opportunity to ask deep and thoughtful questions. Let them remember you as the curious one.
I told him by now, he should know the top 30 civil engineering companies in Nigeria and be a regular on the career sections of their website.
The same thing should be done for the top 30 civil engineering companies in UK,USA and EU. You are an international talent. If young footballers like Bellingham are playing their trade globally. You also can, in your respective careers.
Start preparing for global scholarships. GRE/GMAT for the USA. Chevening and Mastercard Scholarships in UK and University owned scholarships. Erasmus Mundus in Europe etc. Leave no stone unturned. The earlier you know about these opportunities, the better you can plan.
Finish your studies on the high. Try and finish with the highest grade possible. Cut out all distractions. Football, video games, soap operas, you will have enough time later. This is a crucial time in your life. Pleaseπ
Give back your knowledge and times as much as possible, teach, or volunteer your time to good causes, could be secondary school or first year students' tutorials, whatever you can. Document it to show your leadership skills. It helps in applications.
We exchanged details, and I told him to gather some classmates, and I will host them on Zoom when I am back in London. We must help the next gen succeed.
I will keep sharing job opportunities and scholarships. Follow and let's grow together. I am rooting for you.
God bless youπ
