Ozzy belongs in heaven if for nothing else then for The Osbournes, the naughties MTV reality series which showed that, like the LGBTQ community, the "Satanic" left could display the sort of family values the Christian right preached about more often than practiced.
Remembering the OG childless cat lady, the subject of my Yale senior essay, Marie le Jars de Gournay, who defended the equality of the sexes in the early XVIIc. and got Cardinal Richelieu to give her cat, as well as herself, a pension.
@jbf1755 I know all you say in this thread to be true in my experience. News of his unexpected death is heartbreaking. I shall miss him and mourn, not only him, but also the work he had yet to do.

MO State Rep. Phil Christofanelli (R) criticizes fellow GOP Rep. Ann Kelley's anti-LGBT school bill.
PC: Who is Martha Washington?
AK: [George Washington's] wife.
PC: With your bill, how could that be mentioned in the classroom?
AK: That's not sexual orientation.
PC: Really?
@NelsonTebbe @mjschwartzman Alito doesn't categorically reject SDP as Thomas does, but he puts explicit conditions on it that the Court's recent free exercise jurisprudence cannot meet IMHO. What I'm asking is to be proven wrong on this. Honestly can't see a respectable argument here, only raw power.
Still looking for a coherent account of how the Supreme Court's recent free exercise jurisprudence survives if substantive due process is no longer a thing.
@steve_vladeck It's not the actual dissents, but a Roberts' draft concurring in the judgment but not overruling Roe that would most likely peel away votes.
@evanbernick But this is exactly like Roberts's Obergefell dissent: EP there was also the strongest argument (whether inequality based on sex, fundamental rt to marry, or orientation) but he said next to nothing on EP , just asserted "the Constitution.. has nothing to do with it"
Let me only semi-facetiously suggested that my candidate for leaker is Ginni Thomas. She's one of the few with possible access to drafts who believes s/he can act with impunity.
#Roe's leaked opinion's dated Feb 10. Why leak now? Did the leaker want to lock in an earlier, harder core version than what yesterday's draft might have looked like or lock in votes that might have been at risk for defecting to Roberts's position that Roe need not be overruled?
Just as it wasn't antifa but the radical right that stormed the Capitol January 6 because they were the ones with the incentive to do so, so it seems to me that the strongest incentive to leak this particular draft at this particular time comes from abortion's strongest opponents
