East Potomac is facing two threats right now: this administration’s attempt to bulldoze a 130 year old public park, and a bill in the Senate, BAAJA, that would strip away the legal tools currently being used to stop them (both here and beyond!).
Contact your senator. Tell them: PROTECT EAST POTOMAC. Vote NO on BAAJA as it currently exists.
Takes two minutes. Fill in your address, it finds your reps automatically, edit the message if you want, hit send. That’s it.

"I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking.
The world is so exquisite with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's little good evidence. Far better it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides."

I worked with FEMA in The White House.
This is an insane move. States don’t have the budget for this.
Ex: Katrina cost $108B, LA’s total state budget in ‘05 was $19B.
Batshit insane

Statement from the NFLPA on the #Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts:
“The NFLPA is not aware of any NFL investigation into the medical care provided to Jalen Hurts. In fact, the league previously informed the union that it did not plan to review the care he received. Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward.”
A new report on truancy in D.C. says that some Latino students are truant because the increased presence of ICE, other federal agents, and National Guard had "negative impact on their families." One kid said he was "genuinely afraid to step outside" after his dad was deported.
Wow. These additional renderings show just how far the DC region’s development boom has shifted WAY across the Potomac.

🌊 COASTAL STORM STILL DEVELOPING:
Windy Wednesday And Flood Alerts For Maryland And Delaware Beaches
👉 Even it it is a nothing-burger inland.
☀️Today, Baltimore enjoyed another mild October day, reaching 72°F, with a peak wind gust of 27 mph. Farther east, Ocean City already experienced wind gusts approaching 40 mph!
💨 A storm developing off the East Coast will bring increasing winds and coastal flooding concerns Wednesday, especially along the beaches of Maryland and Delaware.
🌡️Wednesday will be cooler with a noticeable breeze inland, but the strongest winds will remain closer to the coast.
🌀 WHAT’S HAPPENING OFFSHORE?
An area of low pressure is developing over the Atlantic, east of the Mid-Atlantic coastline.
The National Hurricane Center has identified this area with a 40% chance of tropical development over the next 2 to 7 days.
However, the storm affecting our region Wednesday is expected to be NON-TROPICAL, with a broad circulation capable of producing strong winds and rough surf.
💨 WEDNESDAY WIND OUTLOOK
📍 Baltimore and Central Maryland: Cooler and breezy, but the strongest winds should stay well to our east.
📍 Eastern Shore: Increasing winds, especially closer to the Atlantic beaches.
📍 Ocean City and Delaware Beaches: Gusty winds, rough surf, and elevated water levels will be the primary concerns.
🌊 COASTAL FLOOD ALERTS
Coastal Flood Advisories are posted for portions of the Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware, with additional coastal areas of southern New Jersey also highlighted.
Persistent onshore winds will push Atlantic water toward the coast, increasing the potential for tidal flooding in vulnerable low-lying areas.
⚠️ The greatest concerns include:
▪️ Minor coastal flooding around high tide.
▪️ Water covering some low-lying roads.
▪️ Rough surf and dangerous conditions near the beaches.
🌡️ WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF MARYLAND?
For Baltimore and areas west of the Chesapeake Bay, this is primarily a change in our weather pattern rather than a major storm threat.
Expect cooler temperatures and a breeze Wednesday, with stronger winds farther east.
BOTTOM LINE: The center of this storm stays offshore, but its wind field will be large enough to affect our coastline. The greatest impacts will be along the Atlantic beaches of Maryland and Delaware, where coastal flooding and rough surf will be the main concerns.
Otherwise, we look dry and to another warm up next week...
So back to the drought talk with that new report on Thursday.

This is one of the many reasons why we need more research on women’s bodies, and how certain diseases impact our lives.
My heart goes out to Christina and I’m grateful for her bravery in sharing this so widely. No doubt doctors will be inundated by other people stepping forward and asking, ‘Do I really have this disease?’ This is why science and research matter and this is why it’s important to fund research on a national level.
