The EU’s failure to suspend its Association Agreement with Israel is a damning betrayal of its own values.

By choosing trade and political convenience over international law, the EU is knowingly enabling grave violations and crimes under international law.

Given the overwhelming evidence that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, maintained an apartheid system against Palestinians, and unlawfully occupied their territory, inaction becomes a deliberate choice.

Every day this agreement remains in force, the EU signals that civilian lives are expendable and that accountability applies only when it is politically comfortable. This hypocrisy shatters the EU’s credibility and sends a clear message: some lives matter less.

History will not misunderstand this moment.

The EU can still act, but its window of moral legitimacy is closing fast.
