@Coelasquid My favorite was hearing 'this comic about weird power dynamics has weird dynamics in it' and I...just...English classes were more important than I thought as a kid.
@bitterkarella I've seen a couple done well but the best was the animated Dragon Ball one that's just a gag about a filler character just being Bimbo Bulma.
@choochoobear Just BEING D&D again. Most OSR titles, the absolute THICKNESS of 5e & 3.5 likes, just absolutely dull. At least play with the mechanics, add something, sculpt it to give it its own identity.
@blacktabbygames I desperately want whatever is going on with him to ve totally and completely unrelated to everything else. Just a complete nonsequitor in a town full of spooky shit bound up in the Scarlet family, in trundlesa a random-ass werewolf boy
@Nash076 Toys that poop can be great teaching tools for kids that are potty training but this is...
There is an unspeakably unsavory element running through it, a toy and commercial pitched with one hand blew the desk
It's fascinating to watch MEN IN BLACK, a film that came out in 1997, and go "Damn, that big CGI bug looks good!" I'm sure someone could explain why, but I think something that helps immensely is the very bold/straightforward design choices.
@travisofGlasgow @bad_histories@SideTrackerBoy The Black Death saw a die back (heh) in European sanitation, particularly bathing, because certain thought at the time linked excessive bathing to the plague
@machineiv On one hand I feel bad that he stumbled into a situation that was outside his comfort zone, on the other hand it's an example I pull up, with his permission, when I'm running new groups about why I'm adamant about content checklists and discussion at sess. 0 & post game check-ins
@machineiv I only know mystery dungeon through the Pokémon spinoff whjch I only know about because a buddy got into a ttrpg game based on PMD after a 4 year dryspell & missed every single red-flag going in right up until Pokémon started getting railed.
@JC62460482@DanSchkade@Lizardman85 Rich people bad! Poor people easily led by actual clown! It is centrist praxis at its finest helmed by a man angry he can't make Hangover movies anymore.
Today I have been blessed with finally obtaining scans of Justice, an Antarctic Press one-shot comic from 1994 which collected and translated material from various Japanese fanzines about western comics, especially superhero comics. And it gets WILD.
