People use antihypertensives/diabetic medication with no hesitation despite the fact that they have to get it with their money but draw the line when it comes to HIV medication
"at least give first aid treatment"
Which first treatment do u want to give a patient with stroke without wasting more time and resources when u don't have the capacity to distinguish what type of stroke it is🤔
The funny thing is that most people go cashless to the hospital in emergency situations.
Imagine the first hospital want to even take the pt in and do the needful, the next question is; are the relatives even financially capable to pay the bill ASAP and move the pt 🤔

Can I blame them? No
That is the system the HCW find themselves.
I can't even imagine the psychological trauma they go through knowing common IV N/S would have saved a pt in shock but relatives have to queue in the pharmacy to get it cos there's no emergency drugs in the ED
I work in a facility where u give emergency care without asking patient for money until after resulcitation.
I was really pissed when I accompanied a referred patient to a teaching hospital and they asked relatives to buy gloves first before they can attend to the patient....
Me: Good morning, how was your night? Do you have any complain this morning?

Random person walks in, patient start complaining to the person
Random person: your patient complained of this, have u done this? have you done that?

Patient relative stabbed a laboratory scientist in FMC abeokuta 💔

Abortion is illegal and unsafe in Nigeria, child care is also expensive
In 2026 people still believe one of the ways to treat convulsion is by making fire and putting the leg of the child in it🙄
Now it didn't work, they brought the child to the hospital las las but not just with Severe malaria but also with burns
