@kellikillion @pennykittle @KellyGToGo Absolutely! I have been guilty of doing this in the past, but never again. It is so much better for students to be passionately engaged in what they’re writing than to “follow a formula.” Engagement always leads to better writing than a formula could ever teach them.

@KnightIsWright I completely agree! Other students can help explain or break things down for their peers in a way that sometimes teachers can’t. It also helps build a positive, learner-centered classroom community. That’s why student collaboration and discussion is sooo important!

@MsGarciaDo I like the idea, but I do worry about what that actually looks like in the classroom. I also believe that we are teaching more than our content in our classrooms, we’re teaching students the importance of time management, meeting deadlines, and work ethic as well. #R10ELARwkshp
