"Two million people who have endured an atrocious assault and a genocide for three years including one million children...
Our people are being denied even the most elementary healthcare, education, access to water, sanitation...
These are people. These are families. These are lives. These are children. They thought they were saved. They are still barely surviving...
There is no excuse for this manufactured human catastrophe. Ending it should be unconditional."
What an absolute disgrace. A FIFA-certified referee being denied entry to the United States purely because he is Somali.
The World Cup is meant to bring people together. This is racism, plain and simple. Shameful.

Iranian Football Federation announces the 8% ticket quota allocated to Iran has been revoked by the U.S., leaving the federation currently unable to distribute tickets to supporters.
A case study in political interference, discrimination and FIFA looking the other way.
Israel responds to Iran's retaliatory strikes by cutting off all aid to Gaza.
This is a state which routinely collectively punishes civilians as a tactic of war.
This is monstrous, and it is also a grave war crime.
It is okay to be Jewish.
It is okay to attend your local synagogue.
It is okay to celebrate Hannukah.
It is not okay to use white phosphorus on civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

Iraqi footballer Aymen Hussein issued a statement after being detained and questioned for seven hours upon entering the United States:
“If America is so hostile towards foreign nationals, why is it hosting the #2026WorldCup?”

This is clear discrimination and political interference in sport. No team should be made to compete under conditions no other country would ever accept.
FIFA has a lot to answer for.
Ese argumento cada cuatro años de que hay que seducir el voto es muy de centro privilegiado; ellos saben que al final del día elegir a quien elijan no va a afectarlos a ellos personalmente.
"The UN was able to verify 31 cases of rape and sexual violence primarily in detention settings, but also at checkpoints and during military operations against 14 men, seven women, nine boys, and one girl from the Gaza Strip and the WestBank.
This is part of a pattern of sexual violence against Palestinians, including as a form of torture.
Violations consisted of rape, including rape with objects, gang rape, attempted rape, physical violence to the genitals, instances of targeted shooting of the genitals, touching of breast and genitals, strip and cavity searches conducted without apparent security justification, forced nudity, and threats of rape. Rape and gang rape were perpetrated against nine of these victims, with four suffering repeated rape on multiple occasions.
Explicit threats were made by Israeli armed and security forced warning detainees not to report abuse to media or human rights organizations."
❗Research from Save the Children: Palestinian children are being physically, emotionally and sexually abused, humiliated and starved in Israeli military detention.
The torture, and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment of children, is getting worse.
🔴 More than half of the formerly-detained children we surveyed reported witnessing or experiencing sexual violence
🔴 99% reported physical assault
🔴 82% reported being forcibly stripped naked
🔴 94% reported being denied medical care
🔴 100% reported being denied contact with their families

@YvetteCooperMP, @HFalconerMP: the UK Government should publicly call for the release of all Palestinian children arbitrarily detained and call for an end to Israeli military authorities arresting, detaining and prosecuting children.
Israel's recently-passed death penalty law contains no clear exemptions for children, and the Government of Israel has not clarified whether children would be excluded from its scope.
Adding a discriminatory and irreversible death penalty to a system already known for abuse would be a brazen assault on the rights of Palestinian children.
Save the Children strongly opposes the death penalty bill and calls for its immediate withdrawal.
The UK Government has said it opposes the new law, but has failed to take tangible action to pressure the Israeli Government to withdraw it.
We refuse to accept a world where Palestinian children - or any children around the world - could be sentenced to death.

Breaking | The Global Sumud Flotilla reports that detained activist Thiago Avila was denied the chance to speak to or say goodbye to his mother before her death, and reportedly still does not know she has passed away due to his isolation and lack of contact with the outside world.
They renewed calls for the immediate release of Thiago and fellow activist Saif Abukeshek, while demanding an international investigation into the interception of the flotilla and violations committed during the attack.
