I drew and rigged myself a Tomodachi Life VTube model for a thematic stream, just for fun .✦ ݁˖
It has a toggle with my silly fat cat, and viewers can tip to lift me up and shake me!!
You don't buy a meal and expect the recipe, or clothes and expect the sewing patterns. You don't get the molds with the figurines, the source code with the game, or the blueprints with the apartment... should I go on?
Riggers if I'm paying you to rig my model that file should also go to me. I PAID FOR IT. it is MY MODEL.
Like what is this industry ? I pay THOUSANDS of dollars to not own the file of my own rigged model ????
@Z1netsu_0 Mate, you are talking about modifying a creative, technical work that is protected by copyright. The food and clothing analogies were about the distinction between the finished product and the production files you don't get access to. The image is my response which didn't fit💀
@petitesymph Whether or not this is considered exclusive - it’s explicitly stated in the tos before anyone pays. If client finds these terms unreasonable, they have every right to take their business to a creator who operates differently.
@Z1netsu_0 Yes, and you can modify a model without the rig file by recoloring the texture atlas (if the artist is ok with that) or adding assets. Modifying a meal or clothing means altering the finished product - it never gives you access to the resources needed to rebuild it from scratch.
@Arraveriii It sucks that she's being ghosted, but if the work needs to be handed over, it requires a specific professional negotiation - not being the default standard
@Arraveriii Her bad experience just proves that the field is full of bad actors, which is exactly why source files shouldn't be handed out freely. Imagine if a ghosting rigger had someone else's cmo file, they could easily modify and resell it.
>You can make your own molds from the figurines because you have the full one there
And that’s precisely why riggers don’t hand out the files to make it easier for people to copy their work lol
@Marzipanic_VT You can always get the recipe
You can see the sewing patterns
You can make your own molds from the figurines because you have the full one there
public information request the apartments blueprints
Games are far, far bigger than a single rig.
@d3pending If you're stuck doing freelance where you give away your source files for free, that’s on you. I'm done wasting my time explaining basic industry standards to someone who relies on slurs lol
@d3pending The rigger isn't claiming ownership of your character. They're retaining the rights to their technical execution. The client gets the working asset to use the IP however they want. That’s how the freelance industry works, whether you like it or not.
@d3pending In a corporate work for hire (like a studio game/website), they buy out 100% of your labor, time, and copyright upfront - which costs massive corporate money. If you want the studio-level source files (.cmo3), you pay the studio-level buyout fee.
@Jade_shitpost You can reverse-engineer or find almost anything if you try hard enough, but you pay for the final product, not for the source files. You can analyze a finished rig to learn from it, but sharing the .cmo3 file isn't a standard practice
VTUBERS! ⚠️
Be careful when posting spicy or nsfw artworks (occasionally/often), otherwise you might have to remake your entire account!!
How I went from almost 50,000 followers to a fresh account. 🧵

At the start of my journey, I (♀) considered drawing and rigging a male model but decided that a fem version would feel more ✨️𝓶𝓮 ✨️
Stream however you want. VTuber market is oversaturated - those who care can find other Vtubers for their taste.
Do people find it off-putting when a male VTuber uses a female model?
Is it an instant click-away for you, or does it depend on personality/content?
I love my character, but I worry new viewers get confused on first sight and leave. What do you think?
No AI. I made these with ů̷̖̤̀̅͂ñ̸̗̼̰̾̓̈́ͅh̶̭̫̀͋́o̶̖̤̅l̷̙͙̬̓̏͌̕ỹ̷̛̥͉̅͊ ̴̲̞͎̺̓s̴̭̅̾̌͌a̷̡̪͂̓͘c̷̯̿͑̈́͐ŕ̴̨̛̆i̷̪̋̈̐̎f̴̛̙̻̫̈́̌͘i̴͉͍͙̒̆̓́c̶̨͎̃̈́̅è̴̛̲ș̶̈͛̄̈́
