🔴 PUBLIC STATEMENT TO MANCHESTER UNITED AND INEOS,

I sat here after the window slammed shut and felt something I have felt too many times before. Not surprise. Just a tired, heavy kind of sadness. No left-back. No centre-back. The same holes left open. The same words spoken in June and July now sitting there like they were never meant to be kept.

You keep making promises that sound like hope and then treat them like decoration. You set another manager down in front of a squad that is still missing the same pieces and tell him to win. Then you act shocked when it does not work. This is not misfortune. This is a pattern. You do not back them the way the clubs we used to look down on back theirs. You give them half a team and a speech about “process” and then wait for the next failure so you can start the cycle again.

This club is in decline. Not the loud, dramatic kind that makes headlines for a week. The slow, grinding kind. The kind where the standards slip, the recruitment stays reactive, the excuses stay ready, and the badge starts to feel heavier than it used to. Players who should be carrying the shirt look like they are surviving it. The club talks like a giant and behaves like it is still trying to remember how to be one.

INEOS, the blame sits with you as well. You arrived talking about seriousness, about structure, about doing things properly. Then the window closed and the same positions were still empty. Massive blame to you. You had the chance to look different from the last lot and you chose the same ending. You can dress it up in strategy papers and “long-term vision” if you like. From here it just looks like another group of people who discovered that running Manchester United is harder than talking about it.

The fans are not innocent either. We wanted the glory back without the suffering. We wanted the rebuild without the years of looking ordinary. Liverpool, City and Arsenal went through the ugly parts. They took the risk of being bad for a while so they could become something again. Too many of us wanted the finished product delivered by September. We demanded results before the foundations were even in. That impatience is part of this too. We helped create the noise that makes every summer feel like a referendum instead of a project.

I am tired of pretending this is new. This is not the first time a manager has been left short. It will not be the last if nothing changes. I have watched enough of these windows now to know the script by heart.

So I wish you well. I really do. I hope the next promises are real. I hope the next manager is actually given a team instead of a problem. I hope the decline stops.

But after all of this, I do not care the way I used to. That is the saddest part. The love is still there, but the belief has been spent. You can have the statements, the interviews, the “we are close” briefings. I have heard them before.

Nobody should be surprised that Museveni’s brutal son would consider anybody who is not from his specific ethnic origin a second-class citizen! By calling his brother-in-law - who he is always at odds with - a 'Muhutu', he is telling you how exactly he views those who don't belong to his tribe. Those who have eyes and ears know that this has been the unstated foundational policy and belief of the Museveni family rule. They now have a reckless, entitled son who is bold enough to say it publicly!

Like I have repeatedly said, you just need to sit down with several victims of abductions and torture and listen to the kind of ethnic or religious profiling (in the case of muslims) they're subjected to in those torture chambers. In the case of NUP supporters, if they're from any other ethnic group, they'll be brutalised and humiliated while being mocked for belonging to those tribes. If they're Banyankole, they'll be beaten up and dehumanised while being interrogated on what they're doing supporting a Muganda. One of our lawyers, Kakuru Tumusiime, recently recounted how he was tortured, being asked how a munyakole lawyer could represent me - a Muganda. Imagine the backwardness! This is a dark truth that we must confront.

This tribal hatred is being spewed by someone his father gifted with heading our nation's military. You can imagine how he views soldiers who come from the diverse regions of our country. Of course this perception is reflected in promotions, deployments, opportunities to study abroad, etc.

I am very pleased that the Government of Rwanda through its Spokesperson has come out to distance themselves from this barbaric madness. They know too well from their own painful history, the catastrophic destination where state-sponsored ethnic bigotry leads a nation.

Unfortunately, you won't hear any condemnation coming from the officials in Uganda because they all know that this tribal supremacy is the true, unmasked identity of the bloody regime they serve.

I call on the people of Uganda to remain united because a people united will always defeat regimes built on sectarianism - however ferocious they may seem.
