Hello AMR stewards
Did you know that antimicrobial resistance is the 5th Global public health threat affecting humanity
AMR is preventable and we all have a role to play

“It should be noted that in 1995 the Hon.@CHRISBARYOMUNS1 led a strike for medical interns that lead to increase of the pay of medical interns from 90,000 UgX to 180,000 UgX.” Dr.Asiimwe R Frank.
Now he is the minister of health and defending the position of government not to pay medical interns
Midwife on ward: Doctor we have just received a mother with obstructed labour. Can we prepare her and you work on her after this case??!
Hungry Unfacilitated Intern: What is her blankent sign/ Hb in Ughs not g/dl
How many medical interns do you think the 1.7billion that @MathiasMpuuga and his fellas at @Parliament_Ug chewed for free, would facilitate?
Let those thieves return the money.
I'll be there speaking for the voiceless, weak & vulnerable; not because of genetics but just because they are young.
The neonates of the medical professional must be protected from inferticider & colostrum snatchers who negotitiate to fill their own pockets.
So help me God.
To every medical student about to enter internship:
Your silence is compliance.
To every senior doctor who went through internship with an allowance:
Your silence is betrayal.
To every Senior doctor waiting to supervise hungry interns:
Your silence is sadistic.
To every Ugandan who has ever received care from an intern:
Your silence is ingratitude.
This policy requires a collective response.
Not a quiet acceptance.
Meanwhile, Parliament wants to expand Cabinet ministers from 21 to 30 and State Ministers from 31 to 51, a move that will cost taxpayers billions, with no clear ROI.
There is money for political comfort, but no money for doctors in apprenticeship?
Who bewitched our country?
Ugandan medical interns are the backbone of our hospitals. They deserve fair allowance, timely deployment, not exploitation.
Charging internship placement for privately sponsored students will cripple our healthcare system and drive young nurses and midwives away from the profession.
We demand better conditions for our essential workforce.
Stop the new policy! Protect our future healthcare.
Mr President @KagutaMuseveni I know you remember this day, when we met you at the Stare House Entebbe and you promised to ensure medical interns issues are resolved after listening to us.
In fact following this meeting you released a directive that medical interns get paid 2.5M monthly. And now they’re telling them to work without pay 💔
Mr President we are coming back to you to ressolve the impasse if the people at the ministry of health insist on that policy. 🙏
🚨 MUK College of Health Sciences student leader @eddympuuga has appealed to Gen. @mkainerugaba over Uganda’s new medical internship policy, warning trainee doctors “are going to bleed” under the new system.
