أسنَدَ ابنُ الجوزيّ في(مناقبِ الإمامِ أحمد)(ص٤٣٧)عن محمّد بنِ إبراهيم البُوشَنْجِيّ قال:حذّثني بعضُ أصحابِنا:
أنّ ابنَ أبي دُؤاد أقبلَ على أحمدَ يُكَلِّمُهُ؛ فَلَمْ يَلتَفِتْ إليهِ،حتّى قال المُعتصِمُ لأحمدَ:ألاَ تُكَلِّمُ أبا عبدِاللهِ؟

Shaykh 'Ubayd used to constantly warn us against getting involved in politics. May Allah have Mercy on us & him. I used to think that Salafis are the best & most distant people from it & I used to wonder why the shaykh would warn us so much. Look now how important & needed those insightful warnings were & remain to be!

Shaykh Muqbil (رحمه الله): Disputes & arguments come from [misuse of] free time. When one spends his time memorizing Quran, writing, researching, building Arabic & handwriting skills, & calling to Allah's Way, his time is limited to that, with no time left over for arguments.
