The FIFA confirmed that it does not intend to take any disciplinary action against Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan after he raised the Palestinian flag, despite a campaign by Israeli groups and media outlets calling for his punishment.

The organization added that flags representing any of FIFA's 211 member associations are welcome at its tournaments, provided they comply with stadium regulations and FIFA's Code of Conduct. It also noted that the Palestinian Football Association is an official FIFA member.

FIFA's statement comes after a widespread Israeli campaign demanding sanctions against Hossam Hassan over his public display of solidarity with Palestine.

We are extremely disturbed to learn of an incident in Thunder Bay, ON where a man of Palestinian descent was physically assaulted while walking to the park on Canada Day with his toddler, his infant, his wife, and his 63-year-old mother – the latter two who are visibly Muslim.

The attacker yelled ‘F*** Muslims’ and other obscenities while first approaching the wife and mother. When calmly asked to leave the women alone, the attacker allegedly beat the male victim and caused serious injuries.

Police were on scene. We are reaching out to all parties.

We are aware of the video circulating on social media regarding an officer and interaction with members from a soccer team.

The Dallas Police Department responded to an area hotel at the request of hotel security regarding an individual without event credentials attempting to gain access. It was later learned that the individuals weren’t displaying credentials properly which is a requirement.

The situation was resolved on scene, and DPD met with representatives of the team to address their concerns. The matter has since been resolved.
