The pitches (shapes and required velocities) that are going to excel at the MLB level are 99% figured out. In the past when it was more ambiguous, you’d have to test your pitches at each level and figure it out from there. Now you know what the explicit goals are in rookie ball.

No one talks about the college to summer ball grind. In college, maybe you have 1–2 late games a week and you’re usually sleeping 10 mins from the field. In summer ball - you’re on the field till 10pm, driving an hour+ home. Bedtime 2am, and you do it again the next day same time
