@melaniegubernik I think that PR is more beneficial for the reason that it builds a connection between the consumer and the company. End of the day, I think this connection is what companies should be heading towards. #UWJ201 #320
@Austin_Keller10 I think that in today's society, Reactive PR is more prevalent. People are always going off of each other's comments and the nature of today's media seems very reactive. I also think that reactive PR is generally used after a negative event. #UWJ201 #320
Yesterday we talked about advertising vs public relations. Do you think one is more effective than the other? Or are they both used for their own reason(s). #UWJ201 #320
@divya_d626 I think it has to do with size of audience. When Ford releases a new car, they advertise for mass purchase, this is not the case with designer brands. They are not selling to millions, rather they sell to hundreds/dozens, eliminating the fact to largely advertise #UWJ201 #320
@alanahowley I like to them generally as pretty different. Manipulation usually involves selected information and based on self-interest, where persuasion is a collective interest. #UWJ201 #320
On the topic of discussing persuasion vs manipulation, can someone persuade with emotion? Or does emotion cross the line into manipulation? I like to believe that i've been persuaded using emotion(s), because I think manipulation has a negative connotation. #UWJ201 #320
@jennaaschwarz I also think that third person effect is very prominent in the conversation of polarization. I believe that most people assume polarization with negativity and give the term "polarization" a negative connotation and therefore it has to be strictly negative. #UWJ201 #320
@maddiegamble11 I really liked your question about less diverse audience with a smaller source. Assuming that a smaller news source gives more neutral news, I think it is dependent on location and type of news. Generally, yes I think a less diverse audience gives more neutral news #UWJ201 #320
