No one can really tell the difference between an 18 year old and a 16 year old.

With thousands of pornographic images uploaded daily worldwide, many of them "leaked" content without consent, many could be unknowingly viewing and sharing child pornography.

It's part of the reason why this petition exists.

The other part is that 18 is simply too young to understand the implications of having your images online for the rest of your life. Too young to consent to the dangerous world of porn performing. Many participants suffer from a range of mental health issues too. Google never forgets. Making it 21 is a good transition, for now, to allow young people - and especially women - have more time to think.

It could also, hopefully, lead to the ages of people appearing to be verified by the poster before uploading. This could effectively ban leaked porn if uploaded in the UK by bad actors.

And further to your disproportionate comment, was American justified in the atomic bombs? Ultimately, no. It was disproportionate.

Was Hitler disproportionate in killing 6 million or so Jews because he blamed them for Germany's issues? No. Remember, it was war time, and they (for intent and purposes) were Germany's enemy.

Or when the Russians tortured German PoWs to death, often skinning them, and more atrocities rather than just killing them.

Now you can rightfully argue my examples are stupid, and the Jewish one is. But also, if you think it's disproportionate, then there is such a thing as that in war.

When you actively level every building in a large area, indiscriminately so, knowing you're targeting hospitals, schools, and apartments where civilians live, that's literally a war crime.

Why do you think the ICC issued a warrant? They don't do it naively. Putin has one, head of Hamas too.

To think otherwise is either wilfully ignoring that fact, or being so blindly naive it's almost cult-like in thinking.
