@BOSUsersUnion @andy_hyatt_ @The_BMC @melanie_fritz_ We'd really like to meet with you soon and discuss how we can change that & be better supporters of all the work you're doing moving forward. Can one of us reach out to you via DM (or however you'd like) to set something up? Thanks for everything you do. (2/2)
@BOSUsersUnion @andy_hyatt_ @The_BMC Hey everyone, this is @melanie_fritz_, as the person mostly managing the @MassSCA Twitter account. Andy's right that we aren't involved in organizing this event, but I realize that people in the field of medicine haven't prioritized your voices - and we need to. (1/2)

❤ these from @StreetHealthOPS
Junkie is a slur
Crackhead is a slur
These words are rooted in classism, racism & ableism.
They are used to dehumanize & harm people who use drugs & people living in poverty.
It's time to #TakeAStand & #EndTheStigma against people who use drugs.
"Some [people] won't or can't stop using... They're still people, worthy of respect- and healthcare. And if someone cuts back on drug use, or learns to inject safely to avoid deadly infections, that's cause for celebration, too." (5/5)
Thanks @felicejfreyer for sharing your thoughts! Some highlights below from her piece on lessons learned from covering the opioid crisis in MA as a journalist (1/5)
I’m heartened by the compassion and resolve of caregivers, and the courage and resilience of those struggling with addiction. https://t.co/dtjuFIvCuV via @BostonGlobe
