@JurajMikurcik I think we can predict the UK government will never legislate to, or finance the insulation of existing buildings: it's much too complicated for these bears of little brain & would prevent them diverting public funds to the fossil fuel companies that support them.

Slow (though not as slow as bricks & concrete blocks) onsite weather-dependent construction, this 'new' technology has been around for a very long time - at least 40+ years in Germany. Never caught on here though.

@JurajMikurcik Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) - it's going to be the next big thing in mass timber products and systems and arguably a far more efficient and effective use of wood in structural systems than CLT or Glulam.

@jparr_mmc @davelomax @LDEProperty Scotland has been succesfully building with platform timber frame up to seven storeys since the 1980s. The Grenfell conundrum is a cladding issue, not a structural one. The rest of the world is busily getting on with building high mass timber structures.
