In actuality, Phase wins because they improved and put out their own fire.

Many independent ventures are paid for via bank loans. They are still independent. The Empire Strikes Back was independent and it was over 40 mil.

The Phase statement does mention the contract not being 'renewed', suggesting the contract was at it's natural end and they parted ways, not an early end/firing.

Of course, that only strengthens the case that Clark should have been MVP over Aja. The case for Aja WAS purely her stats, namely her scoring. Meanwhile her team did worse then the previous year post season.

Bad team defense is on the coaches. Even the better defenders on the Fever couldn't excel under Sides system.
