Watching Gilas Pilipinas, the issue with Philippine basketball at the international level isn't as much a matter of size anymore, as casual "our sport should be *insert non-basketball-sport-here*" viewers insist it is.

It's a matter of skill, or lack thereof. The world is prioritizing versatility across every position, as well as space and spreading the floor. Truth is, Gilas just doesn't have the positional versatility nor the requisite shooting (among other things, such as ball-handling, dribble penetration, shot creation, etc.) to keep up.
