- Your overall performance on this site is "technically" in the hands of everyone else EXCEPT you

❓What do I mean by this❓

- Say for example, you're an artist. You could be the BEST artist in the entire world, but if your tweets have zero engagement, then they will hardly ever be shown to new people in the algorithm. Remember, twitter is a SOCIAL media site, not an art site 🎨✏️

- So that means it's up to others to support you using engagement. Engagement being QRT (quote retweets) Comments/Replies, Retweets, or likes 🫂

❗️HOWEVER❗️

- This isn't every type of engagement there is. Also they are not weighed as heavily as one another ⚖️

- Real quick, let's go over the two elephants in the room, "Time spent on tweet" and "profile clicks" 🐘

- These are two types of engagement that don't have a dedicated button for them like the others. Instead, they are kinda done passively 🤔

- Time spent on tweet is exactly what is sounds like. The longer someone spends looking at your tweet, the more "algorithm good boi points" it gets, thus showing it to more people ⏱️

- The one that's a bit more confusing is profile clicks. This happens when people click your profile to view it directly from one of your tweets. So for example, you read this tweet, then go to my profile by clicking on my name. In that situation I'd get a little "profile click" boost ⏫

✨EXPLAINING THE TIER LIST✨

- Engagement options closer to the top will benefit you more than options at the bottom 📉

- Liking a post does almost nothing. It does help, but it takes a lot of likes to equal what the benefit of what just ONE reply can do 👍

- Retweets are okay, they show up in the main feed when twitter starts getting low on stuff to show you from people you're following. So if you follow a lot of people, you'll likely never see them in the main feed like me. However they do live in the "following" tab, but if you're like me, you never really look at that. So just doing a plain RT doesn't do a lot, but it helps more than likes 🔁

- Replies and QRT's are incredible for your tweet's performance. You want as many of these as possible. If you want to support someone, then you will comment or QRT their stuff as much as possible. These will show up in the main feed of the followers of whoever replied/QRT'd AND it'll even give you points towards being shown to completely brand new people 🙋‍♂️

❓WHAT CAN YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THIS❓

- If you want to support people, then QRT, Replying, or just looking at their post for a long time is the best possible way to do that 🙌

- If you want to RECEIVE more of them, then you have to change up how you post. Weave the engagement into your post naturally, I'll have an example of how I've done this in the replies down below. Read my post and try to learn from that format! 👇

✨We're all stuck on this site together, especially us artists. And the algorithm isn't made to benefit artists. So we have to support each other and lift each other up✨
