1/16 Spoiler-free review of the Calvard arc.

Since I really love these games, I wanted to write a more detailed review of *Trails through Daybreak*, *Daybreak II: Crimson SiN*, and *Trails beyond the Horizon* as one arc.

Seriously, falcom should've named the Viewer mode the Aureole. This is literally the ability to govern space, especially animation control to frame precision. #TrailsInTheSky2ndChapter

Localization really made people think Rex is bad at naming children when in reality he (or the moms) named them Kageroi and Kaguya which both are beautiful names with fitting Japanese meanings.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter PS5

Does it play offline? Yes

Does it require a download? No

Encountered various text issues, such as subtitles not matching dialogue, or text popping out of speech bubbles, or text not properly placed for signs. No major issues, though.

All of the "but they're not as bad as xxx" comments either didn't watch or didn't understand my point in this video 😔

Why lower your standards for physical media just because a company lowered the bar even further? 🤔

The sheer convenience of PlayStation revoking that game license you bought in the snap of a finger (and knowing there's nothing you can do about it) is also too good to pass up.
Physical copies don't get remotely deactivated.

The sheer convenience of not having to swap discs, worry about scratches, disc rot, or physical storage is too good to pass up.

Trails in the Sky 1st is a faithful remake with modern polish, timeless charm, and the same heart that made the original unforgettable. A classic reborn. Can’t wait for the 2nd Chapter.

Highest difficulty final boss really healed 4 times in a row at full HP. Bro is fighting me emotionally.

15/16 Newcomer advice:

Start with Daybreak. Don’t wiki every name you don’t recognize. Let the references come naturally.

If the world grabs you, go back to older arcs later. But before Horizon, know this is no longer only “Calvard’s story.”
