This is manipulative bullshit.

The fucking problem is not that Ossoff criticized Hasan Piker. The problem is that he criticized him for an antisemitic argument Piker did not make. And somehow, after days of this shit, nobody from the Democratic political, media or consultant class has shown how Piker’s actual words establish the antisemitism they keep accusing him of.

They just keep doing the same fucking thing. Rewrite what he said. Strip out the part where he says Jews are not monolithic, warns that conflating American Jews with Israel is dangerous for Jews, and says that conflation makes antisemitism worse. Then replace it with “Jews are responsible for violence against themselves” and condemn him for the version they invented.

And the fuller transcript has been sitting right there. People were posting it days ago and explicitly pointing out that the shorter clip removed the surrounding context.

So what exactly are we supposed to believe here? That all of these politicians, lawyers, consultants and professional communicators suddenly forgot how the English language works at the exact same time? Or that they are pushing a version of his words the transcript simply does not support?

Ossoff voting against arms sales to Israel was good. He deserves credit for it.

And when Ossoff attacks Piker on false pretenses, he deserves criticism for that bullshit too.

That’s not some fucking “honeymoon” ending. That’s giving him credit when he’s right and calling him out when he’s wrong.
