🇳🇬 JUST IN - While Nigerians Struggle With Hunger and Inflation, ₦17.1 Billion Is Set Aside for Government Convoys in Nigeria’s 2026 Budget
Nigeria’s 2026 Federal Budget revealed that ₦11.25 billion has been set aside for the purchase of vehicles for the Presidency, representing a 135 percent increase from the previous year.
Another ₦5.85 billion is allocated across government agencies, including ₦1.5 billion for luxury SUVs for federal universities.
Total vehicle spending now stands at ₦17.1 billion.
This comes as Nigeria battles high inflation, widespread poverty, and a ₦23.85 trillion budget deficit.
The funds are listed under vague items like “fleet upgrades” and “operational needs,” raising concerns about inflated procurement and lack of transparency.
Meanwhile, the health sector received ₦2.48 trillion, just 4.3 percent of the budget, far below the 15 percent target under the Abuja Declaration.
Experts estimate that ₦17.1 billion could fund more than 150 fully equipped primary healthcare centres, which could serve communities where preventable deaths remain high due to the lack of basic medical facilities.
As the 2026 budget goes through scrutiny at the National Assembly, calls are growing for immediate cuts to vehicle purchases, forensic audits of procurement plans, and a shift toward locally assembled vehicles to improve accountability and support domestic industry.
This criminal lunatic is in court for diverting billions of naira in govt funds meant for welfare of his people.
A man who should spend his life running from law enforcement is currently running to be a lawmaker.
Madness that can only happen in Nigeria.
