@Nigtendoh64@homerjahsimpson This might just be me, but I find low spawn rates in SV so much more annoying than rare random encounters in past games because now if you don't see the low spawn Pokemon you have to like fly or run far away to make everything despawn and respawn for another chance
@D1alUpDreams My head cannon was always that while the scientists that made Porygon were good enough to make a new Pokemon, they weren't able to imbue that Pokemon with any type affinity, thus Normal.
@AJSniper28@hometownunova@XanderAgian Yes but that's for a game with a completely different gameplay system. But if Champions (or any future standard play style game that might include Megas) changes them from rest of the battle change to a time limit, my opinion of them will change
@hometownunova@XanderAgian Can't speak for everyone, but to me the three turn limit (plus the only non visual change being a flat HP multiplier) keeps GMax forms from feeling like "New Pokemon" the same way Megas and especially regional forms do, regardless of if the design is good or not.
@Jeff_like_Feff Kid Icarus Uprising almost goes without saying,
Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright might have some plot craziness, but I truly think the combination of the two games improve both individually,
Sun and Moon are among the best Pokemon games,
and those are just major franchises
@DoobusGoobus Sly veers more towards the earlier, Jak more towards the latter, with Ratchet pretty firmly in the middle. But they also gel pretty well as group themselves
@BenBSinger There's so many cool match ups out there, but my top two are:
Indiana Jones VS Professor Layton
Joker (Persona 5) VS Neku Sakuraba (The World Ends With You)
@DeathShitpost While I never really thought of it for live action, Professor Layton Vs Indiana Jones would probably work really well since the flashier stuff for both of them is about being good at using their environment
@houlden2020 Haven't played P3 or watched Jojo, but I see that match up alot. Always thought any of the Persona protags would be good for Ben after playing 5 and 4 (Switching powersets and shouting names), but the JRPG set in modern Shibuya area makes me claim Joker for Neku
@houlden2020 Might be a bit too crowded with the same franchise (besides comics), but I had the idea of set for opener-midseason-finale where each of the modern Persona protags gets an opponent: Makoto (P3) vs Giorno (JJBA), Yu (P4) vs Ben 10, and Joker (P5) vs Neku (TWEWY)
@Lockstin Speaking as a super casual player long time fan: timing might be a slight factor, but I feel like a bigger part of Megas being the most popular is that; with the way that Megas function, they're essentially new pokemon. And that's always the most exciting part of new games
