One of my wishes is to finish this Ph.D. strong, get a postdoc, and visit some of the global South or global North institutions to learn more about belowground plant functional traits (especially of forbs and grasses).

@AleTFidelis @KevinMganga@LEVeg_Unesp@HeloizaZirondi He is a great inspiration indeed. A few months ago, he told me that as young open ecosystem scientists in the global South, we need to communicate our science more. Let the world know of open ecosystem importance and fight this tree planting campaign.

@Lindos_Eye@OppGenRC Thanks to @OppGenRC for ensuring that we can follow. I am actually looking forward to the work being done by @SallyArchibald and @FMtsetfwa on top-kill and tree resprouting in Africa.

@theNWU@FERG_NWU@NRF_News@Saeonews@NWU_UESM The response of belowground bud banks to disturbance have serious implications for savanna resilience. So, I use my native language to explain how this research align with SDG15 (Life on land).

I had the opportunity to present a poster based on the first results chapter of my PhD project at the @theNWU postgraduate studies showcase. This experience has strengthened my confidence in my research and opened doors for collaborations. I won best poster in the PhD category 🕺
