The Key Match Incidents Panel voted 5-0 that the the decision not to send Gabriel off against Chelsea was the correct one.
"The panel unanimously supported the referee's call of no red card. Multiple players were on the ground competing and challenging for the loose ball, and the action of Gabriel was not deemed to be an act of violent conduct or serious foul play."

🚨 Michael Carrick on JJ Gabriel: “We need to exercise a bit of caution on this matter. He's a 15-year-old bot”.
“It’s all about the well-being, protection, and care that JJ needs. The situation is what it is, but we must be careful with the way we approach this case”.
🚨💣 EXCLUSIVE: Joe O’Cearuill, JJ Gabriel’s father, admits he wants his son to leave Manchester United, believing his future lies at a more progressive club:
🗣️ Joe:
“My son deserves continuous progress in his football career. Every season should bring new challenges, better coaching and a clearer route towards first-team football.”
“Too many talented academy players reach a point where their development stalls because the opportunities never come. I don’t want JJ spending crucial years waiting for a pathway that remains unclear. He has to earn his place, of course, but there must be a genuine opportunity to earn it.”
“The training facilities still feel behind modern standards. For a club with Manchester United’s resources and ambitions, the environment should be setting the benchmark. Young players need facilities, coaching and a development structure that prepare them for where football is heading.”
“That’s why I would want my son to move to a more progressive club. As his father, I have to think about where he can keep improving, where he will be challenged and where his development will be a real priority.” #MUFC

🚨 OFFICIAL: Pro Ref confirm “an error of judgement” in Haaland’s goal — also informing Man United directly.
“Following the incident in the 60th minute of Sunday's Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford, we can provide clarification regarding Erling Haaland’s awarded goal.
“The on-field decision was offside against Erling Haaland – that was checked by VAR and he was found to be in an onside position.
“In the same attack, it was established that Enzo Fernandez did not play the ball and therefore that makes any offside offence subjective, however, on this occasion, the VAR did not recognise the likely impact of his position and should have recommended an on-field review.
“Contact has been made with Manchester United this evening to acknowledge what we deem is an error of judgement. A review of the incident will take place.”
