Announcing the 2024 John Broderick Residency 📣
€16,500 will be granted to a selected professional writer for a 10-week period beginning in September 2024.
The Residency is open to all #writers

The guideline rates we've outlined are not fixed or compulsory. They are guides only. However, these are what writers agree is fair pay for the hours involved in each job. We ask anyone paying writers to consider them, and seek improved rates of pay now and in future.

Writers are not expecting massive fee increases overnight, only an acknowledgement that current fees and rates rarely cover the hours of work involved, and that greater efforts and policy shifts are needed by employers and funders to improve the lot of writers.
