SO - the big problem is that for new script writers entering the BBC OPEN CALL – you need to get your script to me for review before mid- November 2026 – I have never ever done a script report and NOT given loads of notes for rewrites and changes – so if you’re going to pay for a report – you’ll need time to make the changes and address my notes BEFORE YOU submit your script to the BBC OPEN CALL.

It’s that time of the year again for new #scriptwriters – the BBC Writers Open Call for submissions runs from Tuesday 3 November 2026 to Tuesday 1 December 2026. Last year they had 7000 enteries.
7000-11 is long odds – so how can new writers improve their chances?  Easy – you get a script report or professional script coverage from an experienced working pro scriptwriter and UK script consultant – like me.

You already need to pay the licence fee if you watch anything live streaming in the UK.
This is from the licencee fee rules:
Watch or stream live TV programs on online services (such as YouTube, ITVX, or Amazon Prime Video). There's no change of rules needed - it's already in the rules unfortunately. @grok is this correct?
