Leaving out Ambati Rayudu was a huge mistake on his part. Had Ambati Rayudu played at No. 4, who knows, Kohli might have won a trophy as a captain. But before that, he needs to contribute 😭

There are only two complaints I have with Virat Kohli the captain, and I've been saying these whenever I talk about his captaincy.

1. I badly wish India had batted first in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. Chasing in a knockout game is always risky. If the team batting first puts up 300+, it becomes extremely difficult to chase.

2. I wish Ajinkya Rahane had been brought into the squad after Shikhar Dhawan got injured during the 2019 World Cup. It would have solved two problems, KL could have continued batting at No. 4 while Rahane opened, or vice versa. I still remember how badly I wanted Rahane in the team after Dhawan's injury.

I don't have any issue for the 2021 T20 wc campaign. The team totally divided at that time and Rohit Sharma's politics was at this peak against virat.

As for the IPL, I don't want to say anything, as Virat never really focused on building RCB at that time. His entire focus was on the Indian team and on becoming the best version of himself.
