@AllCristina2 They also didnt really make Mania, it was outsourced and just published by them. It wasnt even planned, it was basically a filler title to help with the sales of Forces
@AllCristina2 If it really did not sell that well, I dont think Sega wanted a sequel so badly or tried to capitalise as much on the revival of the classic sonic image as they did. You don't see this same kind of wide motion with modern sonic and its 2005 model slapped on quixel assets
@XDAmzTUJ8D85693 On a more serious note it is definitely tiring. I got burnt out from keeping up with Sonic as of recently due to this kind of fandom behaviour and just Sega's handling of the franchise.
@XDAmzTUJ8D85693 Sonic fans barely like using their brains to play the game, cuz most of it is just holding X. Asking them to actually understand a story is too much lol
@XDAmzTUJ8D85693 I think its just because they want to sell the illusion of caring about the franchise continuity and canon. It would make no sense if they really cared about the canon lol
@XDAmzTUJ8D85693 Sometimes it works, like the idea behind the Frontiers titans for example or the Shadow Generations transformations, but if everything exists because "it looks cool" instead of "it is good", everything crumbles.
@XDAmzTUJ8D85693 It would be fine but then there wouldn't be as much brand synergy between the movies and the games. It's all of advertisement and not protecting franchise identity or its qualities. The fact people blindly defend this without questioning it is genuinely puzzling to me
