@MagnusPharao @tlakatekatl @KurlyTlapoyawa We see this time and time again in the Florentine whereas people are giving advice to be happy but not too happy, be generous but not too generous, get angry but not too angry, etc.. This is a beautiful philosophy on its own.
@MagnusPharao @tlakatekatl @KurlyTlapoyawa It is possible to understand the word within its proper context and still see the profound significance without adding other layers that are simply not there. In this case, tlanepantla, in the middle, is referring to living a life without extremes.
@AnthonyJ2545@MiamiDolphins@PalmBeachesFL agree. he needs to take it easy. I really hope his achilles does not rupture completely because he keeps insisting on playing with it injured.
A5: I'll be attending the math institute my district offers over the summer and of course sooo much professional learning will take place at HIVE #openupmath
A4: We are fortunate that we utilize learning targets so it's very easy for students to see their performance throughout the year. I'm going to have them look up the data and graph it then create a summer plan to learn whatever they scored low in. #openupmath
A3: My goal is to maximize student learning by strengthening my classroom processes and minimizing anything that wastes instructional time. #openupmath
A2: I was given a 6th grade prep next year so I plan to familiarize myself with the curriculum but first I want to go through the whole thing as a student so I'll be utilizing all of the #openupmath handouts for that.
A1: I'm going to focus on laminating and organizing all the task cards, designing a robust re-teaching system, streamlining my homework process, and committing to the 100% strategy to hold students accountable. #openupmath
A5: I hate down time.
Students know we are working down to the last minute no exceptions. If we set the expectations high, students will meet them. #OpenUpMath
A4: Tracking mastery over time is important. Students may not completely master the first few cool downs in a unit but they are still learning the concepts so patience is key especially early on. #OpenUpMath
A3: I like to try new ways of communicating and students really find it fun. I've been using Plickers lately and students think its a game. Its great the whole class holds each other accountable and is able to see distribution of answers. #OpenUpMath
A2: Students understand that math is not done in isolation and that extended to the class community because everybody learned to care for one another. #OpenUpMath
A1: I established norms that made working together a non-negotiable. I also made sure to get input from students and arranged groups strategically while including their feedback. #OpenUpMath
A5: They will be adding 6th grade to my load next year so I'll be working through the lessons over the summer and collaborating with as many 6th grade teachers as possible. #OpenUpMath
A4: Going back to activities and utilizing a completely different strategy can be very eye-opening.
I think I'll try that. Sometimes due to time constraints we are not able to explore all pathways. #OpenUpMath
