Heartbroken by the tragedy at CFB Wainwright. My deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and my thoughts are with those injured.
Alberta stands with Wainwright, our military families and the entire Canadian Armed Forces community.
Alberta is mourning alongside the Canadian Armed Forces and the families, friends and colleagues of those affected by the tragic incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright yesterday.
The loss of life and injuries are heartbreaking. On behalf of the Government of Alberta, I extend my deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and wish those who have been injured a full recovery. Our thoughts are also with the military personnel, families and colleagues facing uncertainty and grief during this incredibly difficult time.
We are deeply grateful to the first responders, paramedics, physicians, nurses and hospital teams across Alberta who have mobilized to provide care to those injured. Albertans should all be incredibly proud of their frontline health care workers and our acute care system that has managed this mass casualty event. We’re also thankful to our neighbours in Saskatchewan who did not hesitate to support our response with additional air ambulance capacity, and to other provinces who have reached out offering their support and condolences.
I will be traveling to Edmonton today to meet with provincial ministers and federal officials. The Government of Alberta continues to work closely with the federal government and local authorities. We have convened our Emergency Management Cabinet Coordination Committee and the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre (PECC) has been activated to a level 3.
As a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives and in solidarity with the military community and their families, flags at provincial government buildings across Alberta will be lowered to half-mast.
In the days ahead, our thoughts will remain with everyone affected by this tragedy. Alberta stands with the Canadian Armed Forces, the people of Wainwright and all those grieving during this difficult time.
We're pleased to announce that UCP members have selected @MatherMcalgary as our candidate in Calgary-Glenmore for the next election.
Michelle is an entrepreneur who has spent more than a decade building businesses in the energy sector. As co-founder of an oilfield equipment company, she's negotiated joint ventures from Australia to the Middle East. She has deep roots in Calgary, where she's raised her family and given back through all sorts of volunteer initiatives.

Proud to call this province home and proud of the hardworking, community-minded people who make Alberta extraordinary.
Hands down, the best province in Canada. 😊
I’m incredibly grateful for the volunteers who are stepping up and supporting this campaign. From door knockers and lit droppers, to phone callers and our amazing coffee chat hosts — every single person is helping build this campaign.
This is what a grassroots campaign looks like: neighbours talking to neighbours, people giving their time, and a team that believes in what we’re building.

My parents have had one of the greatest influences on the person I am today.
The values they instilled in me, the example they set, and the lessons they taught me continue to shape how I approach life, family, community, and the work I do.
Those values are a big part of why I’m running to be the next MLA for Calgary-Glenmore. I believe they’ve prepared me to be a strong representative for our community and a strong UCP candidate.
The momentum is building. Our team was out yesterday door knocking, lit dropping, and connecting with voters. 🚪🔥
Thank you to our volunteers for joining us, this is grassroots politics at its best.

Leadership means standing by your principles - not apologizing for them. I will always stand with Alberta's Jewish community, and Calgary-Glenmore deserves a representative who will listen, engage, and never waver in the face of antisemitism. #abpoli#calgaryglenmore
Antisemitism thrives with division and isolation. The ancient hate loses its grip with the strength of unity. Even when a Prime Minister or elected governments fail to summon the moral courage to uphold our national values.
Bridges is a reminder to our Jewish friends and neighbours that you are not alone. It is a reminder for non-Jews that our fate and our success is linked through bonds of friendship, and the quiet courage of everyday decisions that denies the lie.
Thank you to Kim Kitai and Michelle Mather, for the Bridges Calgary Association, in fostering connection across communities. Thank you to the brilliant Holocaust Studies students at Highwood High School for their powerful art. Through education and art, they remind us of the promise forged from the ashes of the Holocaust: Never Again.
Stopped by the Cedarbrae Community Association's pre-Stampede BBQ 🤠🍖 Great way to kick off the greatest outdoor show on Earth. Calgary-Glenmore is one of the most vibrant ridings in the city, and I'm honoured to meet you and hear what matters. https://t.co/JWDdRtAP8w
Neighbours coming together - that's what Calgary is all about. 🌳 Spent Calgary Neighbour Day in Oakridge with amazing community members, Councillor @RobWardCGY and Mayor @JeromyYYC When we show up for each other, great things happen. That's why I'm running for the UCP Nomination and I'm hoping you can support me.
